Illustration "The money-laundering machine of the BBI" (Trends, 19 March 2015)

Hey everybody!
It has been a couple of months again since I last made an update on this blog. Well, I've been quite busy with my other two jobs, teaching and doing ICT at a school, and earning a steady income...

Last week I got a request of Trends to make an illustration for an article about money laundry and disappearing tax paradises. Because of the strict supervising of the government, tax paradises are getting pretty extinct nowadays and people don't have a lot of possibilities anymore to get rid of the money they illegally obtained. The BBI, an organisation connected to the Belgian federal department of Finances, tries to trace and battle large-scaled tax fraud, hopes that these narrow changes pressures people to willingly come out with their illegally obtained funds...

Well of course there had to be washing machines in there...
I also made a picture of the magazine spread:

See ya in the next update!

6e Picturale Ronse 2015 - Met een bootje op zee...

I took some time this holiday to make 3 illustrations for the 6th edition of Picturale Ronse. The drawings are based on a short text for children.

If the drawings are selected by the jury, they will be exhibited at CC De Ververij in Ronse between the 28th of February and the 4th of April.

UPDATE 17/2/15
I got confirmation this afternoon that my drawings were on the shortlist and will indeed be part of the group exhibition "Aanstormend Talent/Upcoming Talent" at CC De Ververij. Cool!

Humo's Golden Ape-contest 2012

I made these cartoons for the Humo Golden Ape-contest with the help of Adobe Illustrator and some scans of different types of coloured paper. I could only send three cartoons, so I left out the last one with all the beavers and fire extinguishers. Still like it a lot, though. The text in the images is in Dutch by the way, but I translated it right beneath the image in English...

Text balloon (frame 1): Fear no longer, my Greek Friends...Text balloon (frame 2): ... I'll get you of the shit you're in!
Text balloon: Are you two up for an artistic and productive collaboration involving both your anuses being penetrated in an intimate and profound way? Text beneath: Cartoon-sollicitations

The Jangton Brothers Filmposters Retrospective @ Mekanik Strip *UPDATE*

After months of hard work, severe meetings, pressing calls and desperate messages, this saturday, the 12th of October 2013, we were finally able to realise the very first Jangton Brothers Filmposter Retrospective Exposition at Mekanik Strip in Antwerp.

The Jangton Brothers Expo is a duo-exhibition in which we show off 12 filmposters of fictional, made-up films by the enigmatic Jangton Brothers, a directing duo from the small village of Peerboom, Belgium. The expo is a result of the collaborative project I started with comic artist and illustrator Jangojim about a year ago...

You can still visit the exposition at Mekanik Strip, Sint-Jacobsmarkt 73, in Antwerp (Belgium) up until the 2nd of November 2013. You can also order a print of the filmposters we made.

A4-print = 20 euros
A3-print = 35 euros
A2-print = 45 euros
Poster-format (Exhibition-size, 100x70 cm) = 65 euros

The prices and sizes are also listed in the exhibition itself. Just ask one of the friendly people of the store to write dow…
